A view or judgment formed about something or someone that is not necessarily based on facts or knowledge.
May your Wednesday be overflowing with goodness and mercy as you take flight into a brand new day!
This morning I was just taking a moment to regroup and thinking about things, as we all do. I have to be totally transparent. During my quiet time, I realized I have very strong opinions. Stay with me.
At first glance, that may not seem to be such a bad thing...right? So let's peel back the onion. Opinions...good or bad we all have them. I can only speak for myself here, opinions can prevent amazing things from taking place in our lives. My mind went to, what was God trying to teach me this morning? Then my challenge, I had to be quiet and listen for his still small voice. Let me share what was given to my spirit...
I felt my Heavenly Father asking me the following questions...
Does your opinion line up with my word?
Does your opinion build up and not tear down? Does your opinion find fault in others? Is your opinion judgemental? Are you trying to do my job?
OUCH!
Keeping it real, the honest answers to some of the aforementioned questions stung a bit. I just might have even thrown a couple of " but God's" into our quiet time this morning.
Look around Champions. Look at the current events around us in this world. Look inside our own homes. Look at the circle of influence we entertain. Often, we have and express opinions based off of feelings and emotions. God gave me a "Bam" this morning! Simplistic but true, does my opinion line up with his word? Did I research it ( my opinion) and fact check it by his directions? Oh and then the kicker. How are your actions,
(speaking of mine)...lining up with the living, breathing, inspired word of God?
I was left with this... In the most reverent, audible, God voice I can muster...
God said,
" Let me do my job! "
" You do as I have commanded you to do! "
Champions, he is on the throne and fully aware. The take away this morning is, don't get caught up in opinions. Get absorbed in God's word. Allow him full reign to work in and through you. He's got this! Every last part of it! Be bold and courageous today!
A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion.
