Giving your time, talent, care, skills, thought, and attention to provide for someone other than yourself. Could be financial, or simply meeting a need that is done without boasting or bragging.
Landing this morning on just simply being genuine. With just passing through the season of giving, I had to pause on this morning's topic for a moment. Quick question, have you ever encountered that person who loves to give or help others, then makes sure they let you know about it forever? Might make one think of the sincerity behind the gesture? Over time I've found that the bible proves itself true over and over and over. The aforementioned description of the giver mentioned has received their earthly reward. However, the rewards that come from God above, prayerfully are the ones we are seeking! When giving, whatever the gift, I challenge you to do a heart inventory and examine the motive within. Is it self seeking or God breathed? Trust and believe, you will know. God blesses a cheerful giver! Not a town cryer.
When you do good deeds, don't try to show off. If you do, you won't get a reward from your Father in heaven.
Matthew 6:1
