Passion within...

A powerful or compelling emotion one might say but truly it is a willingness to suffer for what you love.

Resting in his presence this morning and grateful for his ultimate sacrifice. The price he paid for you and me. The passion he displayed and continues to each day.

Passion within resonated in my spirit this morning. At first glance we define passion as an emotion a feeling a driving force. However, with a little research...I found it to mean a willingness to suffer for what you love! Wow!

Suffering doesn't sound so appealing does it? One might attach pain to suffering and one would be correct. So why on earth would we want to be passionate about anything? Here's the deal...this life we are passing through isn't supposed to be self serving or self seeking. However, when we serve others the reward is beyond our wildest dreams. If we go through the day to day lacking passion, we are merely existing. Passion is powerful and when used in the correct context, a game changer! When the day comes, where we can be more concerned about others than ourselves, we are ready to make a difference. Now here's the kicker... you might say, " I love my family, my children, with all my heart and would do anything for them!" My question is, how about those that don't love you back? You know those difficult people that just get under your skin? Are you passionate about them? It's easy to love those that love us back. Not so easy to love those that don't. Think about this, when Jesus went to the cross, it was for everyone. Unfortunately, not everyone will accept the gift, the ultimate gift he gave. None the less, he was passionate about each one of us and still is today. So the next time you think about, what you're passionate about...think about the passion he demonstrated. Without God, we truly do not know what love is.

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
