A form of communication that often evokes a response that can be positive or negative. Having the ability to harm or heal, create or destroy, bless or curse.
Thursday morning hugs for a day overflowing with God's grace and mercy for you Champions! May the words you speak today bring others delight.
Waking this morning to the "son" shining brightly! Managing my mind and my mood following in harmony. Words, that's what is happening today. Every day we speak words out of our mouths. Unfortunately, I have to say through the years, mine haven't always been to build others up. I am thankful to God that I am at a place now where I have learned to control what I say by filtering it through him first. Don't get me wrong there is still that occasional slip and I have to ask God to make my words sweet as honey because I might be eating them. I say that in jest but it holds some truth as well. Gossip is a deal breaker and relationship killer. Others may not know at that moment what you said but it will get back, trust and believe. In addition to that, God knows what you said. That's what is even more important. The amazing thing is our words can lift someone up. Yes, they are that powerful. However, they can also tear someone down. Thinking before we speak with humility and compassion. Seeking to understand instead of needing to be right is a great best practice. We have a tendency to justify what comes out of our mouths with the phrase, " I was just being honest." Hmmm? I believe sometimes that phrase could be put up for debate. There is a way to communicate honestly and effectively without judgment and criticism. Leaving you with this today...
The golden rule!
Will you join me today in thinking before we speak and using our words to unite, build up, and encourage others? How about it? You're amazing and I believe in each one of you!
There is one whose rash words are like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.
Proverbs 12:18
